John D. Rockefeller, Sr.
"Every right implies a responsibility; Every opportunity, an obligation, Every possession, a duty."
We've all heard of Rockefeller Plaza in New York city, most famous for it's giant lit tree in the holiday season. But this plaza didn't just spring up out of the ground. It costed millions of dollars to build. So where did all that money come from? The Rockefeller foundation, founded by John D. Rockefeller, Sr. He put millions and millions of dollars into this foundation, as well as other philanthropic programs. He was the richest American ever to live. He built a monopoly, Standard Oil, out of nothing. He risked it all, and the end, it paid off. Not just for him, but for America.
